DAY 20: KARMA YOGA
Karma Yoga is often described as the “Yoga of action,” or “selfless service.” Today I practiced Karma Yoga by giving, and giving back. Today 75 of us celebrated the Fall Equinox and Global Mala Day with a Sunrise Yoga practice in North Beach, MD. The weather, albeit a little chilly at the beginning, was spectacular! A bright, clear sky, and the most beautiful sunrise. This is fast-becoming a tradition with our growing Yoga community, and I’m honored to offer this class at no charge to anyone who wants to participate.
In addition to leading the practice, everyone at Sunrise Yoga practiced Karma Yoga, too! As part of Global Mala Day, donations were accepted for the Yoga Health Foundation – an organization dedicated to providing mind/body fitness and wellness programs to at-risk youth. In total, we raised $324! That just happens to be 108 x 3 – no coincidence there.
A special thanks to all who attended. Your dedication to your practice, your incredible energy, and your giving spirit made today a day of Karma Yoga.
Namaste.
